2.Dear babe,

Standard

Let me orient you first. I am planning to make 100 hundred virtual love letters for you until such time na magsawa ka nang magbasa. hahaha! So this one’s the 2nd letter.

Don’t be surprised if I do this. Siguro kasi it’s my language of love. I know you have your own way of expressing your love, your feelings. So let’s just appreciate each other’s language of love. Well anyway, I just want to let you know how happy I am being yours (not yet officially though, but we both know it will come.)

You know what, I may always laugh whenever we converse via Facebook, but I wouldn’t deny the fact that I am really scared at the same time.

Babe, I fall for you every day.  And it gets deeper by the day. But what if one day magbag-o ka tapos ako kay in love na kaayo? Have you ever realized how sad that would be? How will I ever pick myself up? I couldn’t even stop myself from crying right now ‘coz I feel so afraid. (there goes my insecurity issues again).

Babe, please don’t get me wrong if I have these thoughts. I already told you. I handle relationships seriously. I even told myself if ever man magfail ta, I would go out of the country just like what I’ve planned before and would never wanna love again. I may sound crazy, but it’s true. Paranoid jud kau ko noh? Babe, if ever naa kay hesitations sa akoa, please tell me karon pa lang okay? I don’t wanna get hurt, promise.

But anyway, I just wanna let you know how thankful I am that you came. I am really happy these past few days and that’s because of you. Thank you babe. And I love you. 🙂

1.Dear babe,

Standard

Hmmmm..I really don’t know how or where to begin.

First, I wanna thank you for coming into my life. I know it’s a common line people say to the ones they admire or love, pero I mean every word, as in. Basta, thank you. You know, you have this amazing way of making my heart happy, something I couldn’t express in words. It’s like you came into my life out of nowhere and suddenly means everything to me. Kanang ing ana gud..haha!

Just last August 2015, I wrote and posted a poem here entitled, “I’m Holding On, My Love.” I told myself that when the time comes na muabot na ang guy para sa akoa I would want him to read the poem I’ve written. Naa ra sa ubos oh..hehe

If I’m allowed, I would turn back time
And do everything differently
In my past memories, in that pain,
You weren’t there with me
Where were you when I was falling in love?
I’m calling out to you
If you could cross through my fingertips
Your warmth will spread through my cold heart
You are my destiny, you are
But where are you, my love?
Come to my side if you love me
The tears forming in my eyes only want you
Do you know that I will love only you?
I don’t know where you are
But I’m holding on, my love…

Until now, there are times when magwonder ko og mag question kung tinuod ba neh coz it kinda happened so fast, diba? But you know what, one of the happiest I’ve ever felt was when I found out you like me. hahaha! I was like, “as in? ganahan siya nako? aw..”

Before you came, I was actually okay but there was something missing in my life. I even told a friend just a month ago that I am happy with my career but I find no direction because I don’t have someone with me, someone to inspire me and be my strength. I was happy but had no direction. I was a bit lost, but thank God I’ve finally found my home now – and it’s YOU.

I believe God sent you to me to give me something to fight for..to believe in. And also, to remind me na “merong forever.”

Now, I’m happier and more inspired. Right now all I can say is that I am so ready for our future together. Just wanna let you know that I admire how you can handle everything about me, although you haven’t seen everything yet. Pero I just believe that you can. And I wanna let you know as well that I feel safe around you or with you.

b

hahaha! see you soon, babe! 😉

P.S. Just in case someday mag away ta or magkalabuan ta, just take a moment to re-read everything I wrote here ‘coz it would always still be the same thing nga naa sa akong heart.

*smile ka* ^_^

CHAPTER 1

Good morning to all passengers! Please fasten your seatbelt ‘coz few minutes from now we are about to land at Davao International Airport . Hope you enjoy your trip and have a nice day!”

“And you expect me to believe that?” he snapped.
“But I only did that to protect you, Erwin!” garalgal ang tinig na sabi niya.
What more could she say to defend herself?
“Mahal kita pero im too tired and mad to think about you right now. You’ve done too much, Agnes.
But he was too angry to listen.
She stiffened for seconds.

“He hates me so much kaya di ko na inaasahan pang magkikita kami ulit,” putol niya sa iba pang sasabihin ng kaibigan.

Pero nang makilala niya at makasama sa halos lahat ng pagkakataon, she found out they were just spoiled. Other than that, they were genuine friends.

Let’s meet somewhere tonight. What do you think? Ako ang taya. Kaya it’s a reunion of the Powerpuff Girls,” narinig niyang tumawa si Portia at nagmamadaling nagpaalam. Parang isang batang excited mamasyal.
Please I don’t wanna hear anything about him anymore, protesta niya no’ong minsang nagkausap sila ni Portia sa telepono. But she knew how she missed them so much.

Agnes was wearing a mini black halter dress kaya naman litaw na litaw ang makinis at maputi niyang balat. Of course, a pair of red pumps made her stand taller. But she chose to wear them dahil espesyal ang gabing ‘yon para sa kanilang magkakaibigan. She decided to bring a sheer scarf just in case ginawin siya sa haba ng gabi. Her hair was as fabulous as ever. Hinayaan niyang nakalugay ito with big curls on its end. Her shiny, little purse made her entire look more appealing.

Pero dala ng kanyang trabaho bilang photographer, she had to learn the ‘tricks and tips’ of the fashion industry and print media. At the same time, she’s on her way to being a fashion editor ng pinagtatrabahuang magazine. Kaya naman most of the time, she had to dress like one of those models and socialites. Minsan nga ay napagkamalan siyang model ng isa sa mga organizers ng isang fashion show sa Shangri La no’ng minsang na-assign siyang i-cover ang naturang event. With every thing in this world to be thankful about, she was glad she had chosen this path.

She did everything para makalimutan ang nakaraan. And all she believed in, Patay na ang dating Agnes…
All she could hope for is for the man to be happy whoever he is with.

“Agnes! It’s a famous resto-resort in the city. Kaya naman maraming pumupunta sa lugar na ‘yon just to unwind, dine and meet with friends and loved ones.

You look good, the two of you, actually,” she uttered with full sincerity.
“Asus, mag-dadramahan ba tayo rito?

“Ammm, good evening everyone. I just wanna take this opportunity to greet and welcome my long lost friend, Agnes Quintero. she just came back from Manila, actually,” buong siglang saad ni Portia na para bang isa siyang pulitikong nangangampanya.

How could he forget her? She left a scar on his heart na hanggang ngayon ay ‘di pa rin naghihilom dumaan man ang mga taon.

“Girls, got to go to the rest room,” nagpaalam muna sandali si Agnes sa mga kaibigan. She needed to freshen up. Instead of going back to the resto-bar, ipinasya niyang maglakad-lakad sa buong resort. Gusto niyang makalanghap ng sariwang hangin. Sa ilalim ng maliwanag na buwan, she could take a nice view of the whole place. It was all that she needed, a quiet place. Tanaw niya ang boung siyudad. The cold breeze of the wind was caressing her. It is surely a great place to getaway from a chaotic day.

Na-miss ko ang lugar na ‘to and it feels good to be back, bulong niya sa sarili at saka ngumiti.
matagl-tagal din siyang nakatayo doon. The place is so memorable to her. Madalas din silang mamasyal ni Erwin sa naturang resort – and those were bitter-sweet memories.

Erwin…she whispered his name in the air.
“Did you just say my name?” blangko ang tonong sinabi ng nagsalita.
Napakislot siya. She knew that voice, the voice she missed all the time.
Natigilan siya. She tried to convince herself na baka dala lang ‘yon ng nainom niya o kaya’y ng hangin. Pero hindi e, there was somebody behind her.
Her world went to a slow motion when she turned around and saw the person she least expected to see that night.
She just stared at him. Biglang nablangko ang utak niya. Her heart was beating erratically. Much more with anything ay gusto niyang makita ang binata. Ngunit hindi sa ganoong hindi inaasahang pagkakataon.

“Hey, have you lost your tongue?” blangko ang expresyon sa mukha ng kaharap.
Oh, my God! sigaw ng utak niya.
She had to hold on to her guts and confidence.
“I-I didn’t know —“
“I-I’m fine,” nagkakandabulol na sagot niya.
“Nakikita ko nga,” he smiled sarcastically.
His tone was different. Even his eyes showed something unclear to her.

“Excuse me, I have to go back to —“
“Dammit, Agnes!” she saw anger in his eyes.
“You know me very much, Agnes.

“Well, I have a theory. Hindi ka ba nakontento sa bank accounts ng pinsan ko so you dumped him just like what you did to me?” may panunuyang saad nito.

I never meant to hurt you, Erwin. May kasalanan ako.
Naiwan siyang tulala at lumuluha…

Itutuloy…

DCNHS Datu Bago ’03: Then And Now

Straddling down memory lane, I could clearly remember how it feels to be a high school student in City High.  From 1st year to 4th year, “survival of the fittest” seemed to be the ultimate motto of those who wanted to remain in the honor section. Although it was never a crime to be in the general section, most of us were so eager to remain on top of the game. When we finally became 4th year Datu Bago students, we were more comfortable with each other.

Most of us had our own group of friends. Afterall, “birds of the same feather flock together.” However, during competitions and events like jingle making contest and cheerdance competition, there was always unity and camaraderie among us. No wonder, we won a lot of contests and events during our time. I remember how we would proudly shout our “traditional and famous” Datu Bago cheer whenever our section was hailed as the winner or champion. I remember how we would spend sleepless nights rehearsing for a particular contest. I could clearly remember the fun, thrill, excitement, happiness, and other emotions I felt every time. For sure, everybody in our class felt the same.

When we parted ways, I felt different emotions – I felt sad because we won’t get to see each other that often anymore (unless magka classmates sa college). However, I also felt happy because it was about time to take a new step further, another phase in our lives.

"Salad days" is an idiomatic expression, referring to a youthful time, accompanied by the inexperience, enthusiasm, idealism, innocence, or indiscretion that one associates with a young person. This photo was taken during our yearbook pictorial last 2003 in a photo studio located in San Pedro, Davao City. It was indeed the days of naivete. We were so "nenengs" and "totoys" then.

10 long years went by so fast that I didn’t notice how much we’ve become mature – mentally, emotionally and physically. Many years ago, daily quizzes, class recitation and exams were the primary part of our daily battle. But then today, we work for our daily survival, basic needs and wants, our family and of course, our dreams. (dinagko na jud among problema.haha!)

Our first Datu Bago reunion happened last 2013 (if my memory serves me right). Thank God Facebook exists! We were able to contact each other and pursue a meeting, then a reunion.

And so the meeting went smoothly…(with Jows, Francis, Erwin, Shie and I)

Few days after, nadayon ra jud… 🙂

I could sense how happy everyone was during our reunion. Of course, we invited our Datu Bago adviser, Tatay Nelson Fabiosa.

During the program, there was something that really bothered me – kanang muadto sa atubangan unya mag-speech. I don’t know why I always feel scared in front of them. I feel so confident talking in front of other people except them. Ambot nganong nerbiyoson jud ko haha!

Anyway, overall it was such a fun-filled night. We knew we had a lot of catching ups to do. We talked and laughed a lot. It felt so great knowing that some things are still the same, yet I could actually feel and see the changes in our lives.

Just look how naive, excited and happy we were during our high school days. I could not remember what event this was, but I am certain it was during our 4th year.

10 years went by and here we are. (nanagko na! haha!) The girls are prettier now. The boys, on the other hand, are still the same. Joke! Seriously, binata na kaayo sila. And the queens (Dinoy, Jows, Paolo and Snivak)??? Still gorgeous! haha!

More than 10 years have passed, yet Dinoy (the queen insigida in our classroom) never fails to make us laugh with his silly lines and jokes. 🙂

Where Are They Now?

I truly believe everyone of us is chasing after our dreams. Some of us are making a difference in the society – pursuing an amazing career, doing something noble for the people, doing something they are passionate about and leading a meaningful life.

When we were in high school, I remember how eager she was when it comes to securing photo copies of our lessons and studying them for our quizzes and exams. But never did I imagine she would become a doctor. I was a bit surprised but not that much though (isa pa, it suits her). And blooming si doc, in fairness :)

Next one is Paolo. Guess what? Presidential Awardee lang naman siya ni President Noynoy Aquino. I actually thought Pao would become a famous make up artist because I remember he joined a particular make up contest back then. (Pao, pag adto nakog Cebu make-up-i jud ko! haha!)

And of course, Erwin is making a name for himself in his own field. As a field service engineer, he gets to travel from one country to another for free. Traveling for free + having the opportunity to see the world, that's a fabulous combination. I even wrote an article about my interview with him last June of this year. That article has already reached almost 1,000 views (and still counting) from various readers worldwide. charot!

Most of my former Datu Bago classmates are certified nurses working here and abroad, while others are managers, businessmen/women and engineers. Some work in the bank. As far as I know, some are having their Master’s degree. But of course, others are proud teachers and educators. Ako??? Eto, model. Charot! hahaha! Kidding aside, I work as a content producer/writer.

Anyway, we really missed each other. In fact, after our reunion we stayed at McDo Matina for a while and took some photos together. #picturepamore!

Indeed, being a Datu Bago will always have a special place in our hearts. For me, they are like the sisters and brothers I never had.

Discover Paris: The City of Love

There is no escaping the romance of Paris. The metropolis has been dubbed as the undisputed capital of literature, culture and cuisine in the world. Winding alleys, trendy “gastro-bistros”, tiny boutiques and corner tabacs, sprawling museums and a mélange of stately boulevards are just a few of what you can see as you explore the city.

 Paris2paris1
When To Book A Flight?
Regardless of where you are from, it is always best to book a flight as early as possible. This way, you can save more money because it will give you enough time to look for a cheap flight to Paris. It is also advisable to avoid
popular flying days, what they often dubbed as “peak season”, because airfares tend to increase during such season. Remember the concept of supply and demand? 🙂
And also, it is best to fly very early or very late. During normal business hours, very early and very late flights are cheaper. A lot of people do not want to fly during such times that is why airlines choose to offer these flights at a lower cost. Moreover, follow airlines on social media like Facebook and Twitter. With this, you will be able hear about insider deals and flight discounts.
Where To Stay
Yes, Paris is one of the expensive cities in Europe. However, you can find cheaper hotels in the city. If you want to save on accommodation, it is best to avoid tourist and central areas. You may look for an affordable hotel or hostel in more suburban areas. For your convenience, choose an accommodation near the subway and buses.
Exploring Paris
Whether you are with friends, family or your special someone, the most important thing to do in the city of love is to enjoy it and savor its beauty. Paris is an open air museum. One of the cheapest ways of enjoying it is by walking down the metropolis. Explore the 7th and 16th arrondissement to witness Art Noveau buildings, shops and streets. If you wanna feel the romantic ambiance of the city, how about reserving an evening boat tour on the Seine to view a magical and unique scenery of the whole metropolis, rocked by the river?

Paris is home to some of the high-end fashion brands in the world. As a matter of fact, it is the capital of luxury brands. However, you may also find some great stuff in the city even if you are on a budget. Every Sunday, you can visit the Marche aux Puces de Saint-Ouen, the largest flea market in Paris. It is like a huge oasis of second-hand items – from clothes, accessories to antiques.
